Touareg with new design and new technologies: Stands out as a combination of luxurious touring limousine and highly practical off-road SUV

HONG KONG , 8 October 2015 – Volkswagen today proudly announced the introduction of the new Touareg in Hong Kong. The Touareg combines comfort and convenience features of a superior SUV with the all-terrain attributes of a sophisticated off-road vehicle.

Now, Volkswagen has given the Touareg a significantly sharper look and enhanced it technically in all areas. Key features of the new Touareg include a redesigned front and rear, new driver assistance systems such as the multi-collision braking system as standard.

Exterior with new front and rear designs
The latest Touareg is identifiable visually by its redesigned front and rear. Striking features at the front are the new bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and redesigned fog lights. The car’s exterior is further enhanced with the “Chrome & Style” design package as standard with surrounding chrome trim strip. The range of colours has been updated (new: “Reef Blue Metallic”, “Sand Gold Metallic”, “Black Oak Brown Metallic”, “Light Silver Metallic” and “Moonlight Blue Pearl Effect”).

Interior with new switches and colours
Redesigned interior features include the aluminium switches typical of the Touareg. All buttons and switches now illuminated in white gives the interior ambience an additionally refined feel.

New driver assistance systems
The new Touareg is now equipped with an air suspension system as standard. Ground clearance can be increased to as much as 300 mm on off-road terrain. Meanwhile, at higher speeds (140 km/h and above) the air suspension automatically lowers the vehicle’s body. In addition, to ensure easier and more convenient loading and unloading the rear can be lowered from the standard height by up to 50mm.

The multi-collision braking system, which is designed to prevent the risk of secondary collisions in the event of a rear-end collision, has also been applied in the new Touareg.

“R-Line” Package
Volkswagen will be offering the new Touareg with the especially sporty “R-Line” package. Included in the “R-Line” package are 20-inch (‘Talladega’) alloy wheels in ‘Sterling-Silver’, bumpers in the “R-Line” design, black gloss air intakes with additional chrome trim, a black gloss diffuser at the back (also with additional chrome trim), chrome-plated tailpipes and an aerodynamically optimised roof edge spoiler. An “R-Line” badge on the radiator grille is a further indicator of the vehicle’s especially dynamic specification.

“Guangdong – Hong Kong Link” Executive Service

“Customers who register the new Touareg in this year will now be entitled to a free three-year China Roadside Assistance Program,” said Mr. David Goggins, Managing Director of Volkswagen Hong Kong Limited. Named “Guangdong-Hong Kong Link Executive Service”, this program offers to drivers free roadside support service whenever they travel to and from the Guangdong province.

The Executive Service includes on-site repairing, towing, delivery of replacement parts, storage and delivery of repaired vehicle, fuel delivery, battery charging, tire replacement, transporting passengers to destination, taxi reimbursement, locksmith service and up-to-2-night 5-star hotel stay.

The new Touareg is now available with price starting from HK$699,980. With the R-Line Package it is at HK$779,980 up.
